Why Helmark was introduced
Speaklay's engineering team is implementing Helmark to make AI involvement visible, keep human acceptance explicit and apply stronger verification where component criticality requires it.
Initial adoption structure
The first stage focuses on the L1 mechanics of the standard: the team introduces NONE / ASSIST / CORE classification into its existing workflow, maps criticality for significant components, and makes the minimum verification requirements visible in day-to-day delivery.
For AI-assisted work, the objective is not to add documentation for its own sake. The objective is to leave the evidence required by the classification and criticality: where AI materially affected the result, how the required verification was performed, and which human accepted the change. Intent is recorded where STD 2.0 requires it.
What will be documented next
As the implementation progresses, this case study will be expanded with the workflow used at Speaklay, examples of classification decisions, tooling changes, lessons learned and validated outcomes.
